Civilization which runs by sudras is the problem of whole world in present moment

“Therefore everybody is a sudra now. Kalau sudra -sambhavah. And that is his qualification, always feeling in want, socati . And his work is to serve others, master. A brahmana will not work under anybody. A ksatriya will not work under anybody. Nowadays the industrial development has taken place because people are sudra s. They want some service. So-called technologists and laborers, and everything. Everyone is searching after good job. He cannot live independently, just like a dog. A dog cannot live independently. He must have a master. Then he is happy. Is it not? Otherwise it is street dog. So modern education is that they are creating sudras, to become dependent on others . And therefore modern economic development is taking place because there are so many people, they are prepared to give them service. Suppose in your bank, if you withdraw from the service, the bank will stop. Industry will stop. So because there is no such division as brahmana , ksatriya , vaisya , sudra . Everyone is sudra . Therefore this economic development, so-called economic development, has become possible. But in spite of all this economic development, because people are sudra s, they cannot be happy. Because socati , they will lament, strike. Even they are getting thousands of rupees, strike. Even they get five hundred thousands of rupees, still there will be strike. Because they are sudras”. ( SP, Room Conversation bombay)

Unfortunately. the so-called government men are also sudras. The so-called priests are sudras. The so-called vaisyas are sudras. The whole world is now full of sudras. You cannot expect anything very nice in this situation, because everything is being conducted by sudras. Kalau sudra-sambhavah. In the Kali-yuga, amongst the sudras, there is no asrama, simply earn, earn, get some money and eat. That's all. That is sudras life. ( Back to Godhead magazine 24/03/89)

Because they are all sudras, what they can make, make solution? The present moment, the whole world is full of sudras, and they have got money. So they are simply spending for sense gratification. Therefore, according to Vedic civilization, sudras should not be given much money. Simply what they actually require, that's all. Because they do not know how to utilize money. At the present moment, because the whole population are sudras, as soon as they get money, they spend it for wine, women, and squander it away. Big, big rich men in America, they spend fifty thousand dollars in a week in Florida for seeing naked dance. Is it not? Is it not a fact? Because they are sudras. They do not know how to spend money. And formerly, before this, people were little intelligent, or at least they had some religious faith. So they constructed temple, churches, mosque. Nowadays these things is stopped. As soon as one gets money, "How to spend it after sense gratification?" SP lecture

Lifestyle is unsustainable and on the verge of collapse

“Srila Prabhupada has very clearly said that cities are going to crumble, to fall apart. And he gave the reason why cities will be destroyed is because of this almost unforgivable sinful activities allowing slaughtering of Cows” HH. Bhakti Raghava Swami

“Cities are not the place to stay....Cities are flourishing on account of having so many industries, slaughterhouses, brothels, cinema, clubs and nightclubs” Srila Prabhupada .

The present modern urban lifestyle is unsustainable and on the verge of collapse. Modernization has destroyed the quality of life for the vast majority of people. More and more people see the need to return to a more natural way of life. For our physical, mental and spiritual health we must return to nature's way. Today's young generation is highly confused and seriously disoriented. We have acute ecological imbalances due to poor living habits and over consumerism” Varnasrama pamphlet.

The best solutions trough Srila Prabhupada Order

“The essence of Vedic sastras Bhagavad-gita teaches us the importance of simple living. All the great Teachers, Acaryas, have given us the same basic information. The Founder-Acarya of ISKCON SrilaPrabhupada ordered”

“ at the present moment the whole world is full of rascals. Now if they take to Krsna Consciousness, select amongst them, just like I am training you are brahmana by training. So one who is prepare to be trained as brahmana, and classify him in the brahmana. One is trained up as ksatriya, classify him, in this way you take the whole mass of people as sudra and rest, who is neither brahmana nor ksatriya nor vaisya, then he is sudra. That is all, very easy thing. This will be the happiness. When people will be peaceful, happy in their living condition that will bring happiness...”

Srila Prabhupada has explained that today's most sinful and atrocious activity, in the name of modern advancement, is the systematic slaughtering of Krishna's cows. For this, the cities in both the West and Europe will be destroyed. What to speak of India's situation, where the cow is referred to as “sacred cow” and known as one of our seven worshipable mothers! Since the beginning of his preaching, even before coming to the Western countries, Srila Prabhupada stressed the importance of village life and of cow protection, as well as the need to revive this essential culture:

“It was, of course, Gandhi's policy to concentrate his organization in village life, taking to simple life and cow protection. But just after Mahatma Gandhi's disappearance, his chief disciple, Pandit Nehru, planned for up-to-date organized cow-slaughter house. So this is our position. If you have understood Krishna Consciousness science, then you will try to revive this cultural life in India.” Letter to Gopal Krsna, June, 1969. PP Save Our Cows Save Our Village

M ost sudras and Vaisya (80 % of the population) should work on the farms

Real higher education means learning Vedic wisdom. This is meant for the brahmanas. Alone, sudra education leads to a chaotic condition. Everyone should be tested to find out which education he is suited for. Some sudras may be given technical education, but most sudra s should work on the farms. Because everyone is coming to the cities to get an education, thinking, "We can get more money," the agriculture is being neglected. Now there is scarcity because no one is engaged in producing nice foodstuffs.

They pay for that, the sudras, as servants are... The Englishmen used to say these men, craft and technolo..., "educated laborer." They are laborer and little educated. There are uneducated laborer, just like carpenter. He doesn't require any education. If he knows how to rub on... What is called, that? That instrument? He doesn't require to become M.A., Ph.D. All these laborers are working so nicely. So why they should spend, waste their time in going to school and college? From the very be... As soon as he's ten years old only, let him learn practically how to weave cloth, how to become carpenter, how become other craftsman. And in due course of time he can earn his... How to cultivate land... Why so many big, big universities for inviting everyone? There is no need. Educated means brahmana , ksatriya . Brahmana will give real knowledge, and ksatriyas will govern. For vaisyas and sudras, there is no... It is waste of time. Formerly it was done so. The vaisyas , they have got a son, goes to a shopkeeper: "Please here let my son work with you. He doesn't want any salary." So he gets engagement. Then, by seeing, seeing, he becomes little important. And the proprietor gives him some hand expense. And then, one day, he becomes very expert. He starts his own business. That was the system. Why he should go and waste time for education? A boy is given to a carpenter. He learns very easily. A weaver, he learns very easily. A shopkeeper, grocer, he learns very easily. That is education. Why he should waste time for academic education and create unemployment? So long he's not educated, he has got enough employment. Still they take in the morning, say, half a mound of òäl and goes home to home: (Hindi) So by saying, after mound of òal, he makes up these two, three rupees' profit. That's all. Where is unemployment? SP Conversation Vrindavana

Organize village life

Actually that is life. Go to the village. Mahatma Gandhi also wanted to organize this life , but unfortunately you have changed. Now we have got place in Hyderabad about six hundred acres of land. We are also trying here. We have already done in Mayapur. We are producing our own food, our own cloth, own milk, and we are chanting Hare Krishna. This is the simplest life. This life is meant for not working like hogs and dogs. That is the instruction. Nayam deho deha-bhajam nrloke kastan kaman arhate vid-bhujam ye [SB 5.5.1]. This is the business of the stool-eater hogs. But what is meant for human life? Tapo divyam putraka yena sattvam suddhyed [SB 5.5.1]. Just rectify your existence. You are not to die. Na hanyate hanyamane sarire [Bg. 2.20]. Why don't you take this formula seriously, that "I am not subject to die. I am not subjected to death. Why I am forced to take birth and die?" This one question, that is human life. Athato brahma jijnasa . Now this life is meant for... "I am Brahman. Now I must inquire about my identity, about my constitutional position, how I can become happy, why I am put into this tribulation." Duhkhalayam asasvatam [Bg. 8.15]. Krishna says; I am not saying. This place, Krishna says, this is duhkhalayam asasvatam [Bg. 8.15]. But we are trying to mitigate our distresses by material adjustment. But Krishna says no, that is not possible. Daivi hy esa gunamayi mama maya duratyaya [Bg. 7.14]. Whatever plan you make, the nature will break it. You have to suffer here. Because you have preferred to come into this material world and want to become happy—you do not know what is the way of happiness—you must suffer. Krishna does not like, because you are His son, but it is a punishment under the control of the material nature.

So if we want to avoid this punishment , duhkhalayam, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam [Bg. 13.9], this polluted condition... This is polluted condition. I am eternal, na hanyate hanyamane sarire [Bg. 2.20]. So our question should be... [break] The human life is meant for inquiring about our permanent life.... (SB. 5.5.1. Bombay, December 25, 1976. (761225SB.BOM))

Introduce Varnasrama Dharma as Preaching In Big Scale

In big scale you cannot make all of them as brahmanas or sannyasis. No. That is not possible. This is a small scale... But if you want to make the whole human society perfect, then this Krishna consciousness movement should be introduced according to Krishna's instruction The whole mass of people will get the benefit of it. Then it is required, systematic. Sve sve karmany abhiratah samsiddhim labhate narah. Para-upakara means mass benefit, not there is certain section. Then we have to introduce this varnasrama-dharma. It must be done perfectly, and it is possible and people will be happy.

(Mayapura, Feb. 14 1977) :

The Importance of Land

1. All economic problems become easily resolved when one has land and cows. 2. Bhumi (land) is worshipable because she gives life and sustenance to all living entities. 3. In the Vedic culture, every family would grow their own food and have a few cows. 4. The use of chemicals, hybrid seeds, pesticides and machinery destroy the land. 5. Land, food and milk are not meant to be sold but should be given in charity. 6. There is sufficient land on the planet to feed at least 10 times the present population. 7. Before the British came rice production in India surpassed the present global output. 8. One hectare of land can produce 3 tons of rice, 3 times what a family needs yearly. 9. One should not have more land than what one can pull out the weeds by hand. 10. Most householders should be living off the land engaged in agriculture work. 11. The land is considered one of our seven mothers and thus is worshipable

WHAT'S WRONG WITH OUR COWS, MOTHER EARTH AND VILLAGES  TODAY?

COWS. In most countries of the world, cows are being mercilessly butchered in organized government supported slaughterhouses or even in clandestine horror factories orchestrated by unscrupulous people. Modern day “factory farming” treats the cows as mere machines and injects them with all kinds of dangerous fluids and chemicals to increase their milk production. Once their production goes below the expected level, they are disposed of in a most cruel manner, the horrors of which are known to only a few. In India alone, the number of pure breed cows has decreased from 75 to only 33 within the last few decades.

In India, 200,000 cows are slaughtered DAILY !

VILLAGES. The Industrial Revolution started a few hundred years ago in Europe has succeeded in gradually shifting entire nations from their normal agrarian based lifestyle to today's ever increasing urban based living. This trend continues at an ever alarming rate with a country like India expected to have 50% of its population living in towns and cities by year 2020. Due to the onslaught of modernistic propaganda to increase national economic development, villagers are being allured to factory work in the cities or at times are forced to sell their land to greedy industrialists. Our villages & villagers are quickly disappearing!

MOTHER EARTH. Just a few years ago, the United Nations declared that already the results of ecological disasters had reached a “point of no return”. The trend has continued to swell at an ever increasing & alarming rate with the more recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a humongous disaster which may cause unknown ecological dire consequences of a dimension possibly yet unparalleled in the history of mankind. In their frenzy and madness for unrestricted economic growth, most governments around the world are rapidly depleting their natural resources by allowing dangerous and unwise policies aimed at rapid exploitation of our natural resources. Mother Earth's burden increases every single day! From: Adopt Village Pamphlet by Bhakti Raghava Swami

Sri Damodarastaka

In this most auspicious month, devotees recite prayer known as Sri Damodarastaka (eight verses in praise of Lord Krishna in His form as Damodara)
by Sri Satyavrata Muni
translated by His Holiness Acyutananda Svami

namamisvaram sac-cid-ananda-rupam
lasat-kundalam gokule bhrajamanam
yasoda-bhiyolukhalad dhavamanam
paramrstam atyantato drutya gopya

To the supreme controller who possesses an eternal form of blissful knowledge, whose glistening earrings swing to and fro, who manifested Himself in Gokula, who stole the butter that the gopés kept hanging from the rafters of their storerooms and who then quickly jumped up and ran in retreat in fear of Mother Yasoda but was ultimately caught—to that Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, I offer my humble obeisances.

rudantam muhur netra-yugmam mrjantam
karambhoja-yugmena satanka-netram
muhuh svasa-kampa-trirekhanka-kantha-
sthita-graiva-damodaram bhakti-baddham

Upon seeing His mother's whipping stick, He cried and rubbed His eyes again and again with His two lotus hands. His eyes were fearful and His breathing quick, and as Mother Yasoda bound His belly with ropes, He shivered in fright and His pearl necklace shook. To this Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, who is bound with His devotee's love, I offer my humble obeisances.

itidrk sva-lilabhir ananda-kunde
sva-ghosam nimajjantam akhyapayantam
tadiyesita-jnesu bhaktair jitatvam
punah prematas tam satavrtti vande

Those superexcellent pastimes of Lord Krishna’s babyhood drowned the inhabitants of Gokula in pools of ecstasy. To the devotees who are attracted only to His majestic aspect of Narayana in Vaikuntha, the Lord herein reveals: "I am conquered and overwhelmed by pure loving devotion." To the Supreme Lord Damodara, my obeisances hundreds and hundreds of times.

varam deva moksam na moksavadhim va
na canyam vrne ’ham varesad apiha
idam te vapur natha gopala-balam
sada me manasy avirastam kim anyaih

O Lord, although You are able to give all kinds of benedictions, I do not pray to You for liberation, nor eternal life in Vaikuntha, nor any other boon. My only prayer is that Your childhood pastimes may constantly appear in my mind. O Lord, I do not even want to know Your feature of Paramatma. I simply wish that Your childhood pastimes may ever be enacted in my heart.

idam te mukhambhojam atyanta-nilair
vrtam kuntalaih snigdha-raktais ca gopya
muhus cumbitam bimba-rakta-dharam me
manasy avirastam alam laksa-labhaih

O Lord, the cheeks of Your blackish lotus face, which is encircled by locks of curling hair, have become reddened like bimba fruit due to Mother Yasoda’s kisses. What more can I describe than this? Millions of opulences are of no use to me, but may this vision constantly remain in my mind.

namo deva damodarananta visno
prasida prabho duhkha-jalabdhi-magnam
krpa-drsti-vrstyatidinam batanu-
grhanesa mam ajnam edhy aksi-drsyah

O unlimited Visnu! O master! O Lord! Be pleased upon me! I am drowning in an ocean of sorrow and am almost like a dead man. Please shower the rain of mercy on me; uplift me and protect me with Your nectarean vision.

kuveratmajau baddha-murtyaiva yadvat
tvaya mocitau bhakti-bhajau krtau ca
tatha prema-bhaktim svakam me prayaccha
na mokse graho me ‘sti damodareha

O Lord Dämodara, in Your form as a baby Mother Yasoda bound You to a grinding stone with a rope for tying cows. You then freed the sons of Kuvera, Manigriva and Nalakuvara, who were cursed to stand as trees, and You gave them the chance to become Your devotees. Please bless me in this same way. I have no desire for liberation into Your effulgence.

namas te ’stu damne sphurad-dipti-dhamne
tvadiyodarayatha visvasya dhamne
namo radhikayai tvadiya-priyyai
namo ’nanta-lilaya devaya tubhyam

O Lord, the entire universe was created by Lord Brahma, who was born from Your abdomen, which was bound with a rope by Mother Yasoda. To this rope I offer my humble obeisances. I offer my obeisances to Your most beloved Srimati Radharani and to Your unlimited pastimes.
